    Honored by:
    Mr. Brian E. Williams

This is the man who inspired me to take to the air and fulfill a dream! Willy (Dad as I call him) has been my Co-Pilot in fulfilling my dream to become a licensed pilot. From my first trip in a Cessna 150 to an awe-inspiring flight (above the clouds) from Connecticut to West Virginia, Dad has been supportive and involved in my whole flying career.

Norman Williams was born April 25, 1951 in Montreal, Canada. He, along with his mother, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters, moved to Milford, Connecticut two years later. Dads' first flight, at a very young age was in a Piper Cub which created the enthusiasm of flying that exists to this day.

Dad joined the Navy the day after his high school graduation and served 4 years in the US Navy, a portion of it as a hydraulics specialist for P-3 aircraft with Patrol Squadron 30 [VP-30] Pro's Nest at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. After his service in the Navy he married my beautiful mother Marilyn Ann on May 11, 1974 (the best decision he has ever made!).

On June 19, 1990 Dad was naturalized as a United States Citizen at the Federal Courthouse in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Dad is a dedicated individual with a solid work ethic and has shown this with 32 years of service to Southern States Cooperative, Inc. Today Dad and Mom live in Middleway, West Virginia in a beautiful home on 2 acres of land. They have put a son through college, gained a daughter-in-law (Jennifer) and are patiently awaiting Grandchildren.

Jennifer and I thought that this would be a wonderful way to show Dad how important he is in our lives and the lives of others. I know Dad has influenced me in ways I don't even understand yet, but what I do know is that Dad is a great father, a great husband, and a great man. I am thrilled to have him as my Co-Pilot!
