Born Sept. 10, 1927 in York, PA. Enlisted Navy in Sept. 19, 1944 and attained rank of AMM 3/c (Aviation Machinist Mate, 3rd class) in Norman, OK. Flew in Lockheed Ventura PV-1 and PV-2; Curtiss 2B2C helldiver, PBY and Grumman Duck. Performed as Crew Chief and Gunner. Honorable Discharge in 7/2/1946 and re-enlisted for eight year term in Reserves. Graduated 1948 from Pittsburg Institute of Aeronautics with A & E (A&P) certification. Worked 1952-1966 for Curtiss Wright in USA & Europe as Field Service Engineer. 1966-1979 with United Aircraft. 1979-1944 with NTSB and retired as Section Chief of Aviation Engineering, aircraft accident investigation.
