    Born 2 Apr 1926, Perry Snell grew up in Ft. Myers, FL. As a young man he had an interest in aviation and made his first solo flight at age 16, in Sep 1942. That same year he became one of the founding Civil Air Patrol cadets in Florida. In Sep 1943 he enlisted in the Army reserve and, in Oct 1944 went on active duty with the Army Air Corps.

    Corporal Snell mustered out Nov 1945 while in liaison pilot training. He worked for National Airlines from 1945 to 1953 when he flew as a pilot for Continental Charters. In 1954 he returned to National Airlines and served as the airline's station manager from 1955 to 1975, at the Sarasota-Bradenton Int'l Airport. He remained as an officer in the Civil Air Patrol until the 1990s.
