I made my solo flight in a 40hp Cub airplane in 1937. Went on to acquire my instructor and flight examiner’s rating. And, along with my husband, started a flight school in Cortez, CO. We were given a Government Civilian Pilot Training contract, and gave basic flight a ground school training to students who then went into the Air Force and Women’s Air Service pilots.
Flying has always been my passion. Now at age 86, I am giving speeches for organizations that seem to have an interest in “Flying” in the early days.
