Dr. Ravi Vaidyanathan has been chosen for the National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor due to his contributions to the exploration of space and advancements and inventions of improved aircraft and spacecraft control. Dr. Vaidyanathan is the Director of Advanced Controls of Orbital (Research Inc., a company dedicated to the development of improved aircraft and spacecraft systems. Dr. Vaidyanathan is the primary inventor the company's algorithms for biologically inspired neural networks for flight control, and has lead the efforts in the development of genetic algorithms for path planning, and flocking and swarming algorithms for air/space vehicle group behavior.
