Ray was a B-24 (Liberator) pilot in the World War II. He was a Captain in the 485th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force, stationed in Venosa, Italy. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was born in Chicago 10 March 1917. He was a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology and was a mechanical engineer. He died in Elmhurst IL. 29 May 1980.
