    Four years U. S. Marine Corps Reserve while attending ROTC (high school) and college, Los Angeles. December 8, 1941: Invitation from March Field for Aviation Cadet physical exam. Enlisted 13 March 1942. Appointed Aviation Cadet 27 May 1942, Santa Ana Aviation Cadet Center. Commissioned Bombardier 27 March 1943 (class 43-5) Roswell AAFB; Celestial Navigator (Class 43-11) Hondo AAFB. Combat in B-25's, 7th Air Force, 820th Bomb Squadron, Marshalls-Gilberts, 50 combat missions, eight low level missions, March 44 thru Sept 44. Received two DFC s and six Air Medals. Triple rated in 1945 as Radar Observer, Victorville AAFB. 1947: Strategic Air Command, Walker AFB, combat crewmember B-29's, 509th Bomb Wing, 830th B.S. and pioneer B-29 Air Refueling Squadron. Korean War: Randolph AFB Radar/Navigator as instructor for B-29 crews. Flight Commander/Instructor Ellington AFB training Bombardier-Navigators 1953-55. Air Weather Service 1955-1960, 22 typhoon penetrations; 50 hours circling a nuclear cloud over Libya. MATS: Congo service 1960. St. Mary's of San Antonio, LLB, Juris Doctor, 1958. Retired, 20 years Travis AFB 1962. Civil Servant for more than 40 years after retirement from US AF.
