Enlisted 13 March 1942. Appointed Aviation Cadet 27 May 1942, Santa Ana Aviation Cadet Center. Commissioned Bombardier 27 March 1943 (class 43-5) Roswell AAFB; Celestial Navigator (Class 43-11) Hondo AAFB. Combat in B-25's, 7th Air Force, 820th Bomb Squadron, Marshalls-Gilberts, 50 combat missions, eight low level missions, March 44 thru Sept 44. Received two DFC s and six Air Medals. Triple rated in 1945 as Radar Observer, Victorville AAFB. 1947: Strategic Air Command, Walker AFB, combat crewmember B-29's, 509th Bomb Wing, 830th B.S. and pioneer B-29 Air Refueling Squadron. Korean War: Randolph AFB Radar/Navigator as instructor for B-29 crews. Flight Commander/Instructor Ellington AFB training Bombardier-Navigators 1953-55. Air Weather Service 1955-1960, 22 typhoon penetrations; 50 hours circling a nuclear cloud over Libya. MATS: Congo service 1960. St. Mary's of San Antonio, LLB, Juris Doctor, 1958. Retired, 20 years Travis AFB 1962. Civil Servant for more than 40 years after retirement from US AF.
