My dad, Frank R. Pellegrini, was a bombardier/navigator during WWII. He flew in B25’s, B26’s and AZ6’s in both the European and Asian theaters.
He introduced me to the amazing world of aviation with my first flight when I was six – in a friend’s float plane at Coney Island, NY.
We shared a love of aviation and were both fascinated with our country’s space efforts.
Dad passed on in 1988, just a few months before I qualified for my private pilot’s license. My only regret is that we were never able to “slip the surly bonds of earth” together.
