    A graduate of Long Island University (C.W. Post Campus) with a summa-cum-laude BA Degree in Comparative Languages and Journalism, Robert G. Waldvogel has subsequently earned the Continuing Community Education Teaching Certificate from the Nassau Association of Continuing Community Education (NACCE) at Molloy College, the Travel Career Development Certificate from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA) at LIU, and the AAS Degree in Aerospace Technology at the State University of New York - College of Technology at Farmingdale.

    Having amassed two decades in the airline industry—from 1981 to 2001—with Capitol Air, Midway Airlines, Triangle Aviation Services, Royal Jordanian Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and their alliances, he has earned several additional certificates and licenses at their respective US and European training centers.

    An aviation department advisor to SUNY Farmingdale, he maintains professional affiliations with the Nassau Association of Continuing Community Education, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and the Rhinebeck Aerodrome Museum, and is a National Air and Space Museum-Dulles Facility sponsor and a Cradle of Aviation Museum Aerospace honoree.

    He has attained some 25 academic, employment, and travel honors and awards throughout his career.

    Multilingual, he travels globally and extensively and pursues freelance aviation journalism and photography.
