    U.S. Navy, 1955-1970: U.S. Naval Air Intelligence and Reserves: Retired as Lieutenant, Air Intelligence, to the U.S. Naval Retired Reserve, 1970. Project Mercury, and Gemini Missions: Robert/Bob worked as a NASA-contracted, IBM Federal Systems Division Computer Programmer for the "Mercury Monitor Real-time Computational and Data Control System," which was developed to provide information about the Mercury spacecraft during all phases of launch, orbit, abort and re-entry. The system provided data essential to astronaut recovery after splash-down, and assisted in identifying problems/potential problems during Project Mercury and Gemini Mission flights.
