    Graduate: Oregon State College, 1953. Entered the USAF Pilot Training Class 54N at Hondo, TX. Graduated with wings from Bryan, TX Basic Pilot Training Program, and Nellis Advanced Gunnery School Las Vegas, NV. (1954) Assigned 1954 to 5th Air Force, Far East Command, 4th FTR Wing, and 336th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. Flew F-86's from Misawa Air Base, Japan, and K-14 Air Base, Kimpo, Korea
    (1954-1956).
    Assigned 31st Wing, 308th 6k 307th Fighter Bomber Squadrons, George AFB, Victorville, CA. (1957-1961). Served under Squadron Commanders, Bruce Carr, Peach Salyards, Robbie Risner, Chuck Yeager, and Howie Polen. Crossed Atlantic Ocean in F-100 fighter aircraft five times, and Pacific Ocean four times with in-flight refueling from K-B-50J's and KC-135 tankers. Served as Assistant 31st Wing Flying Safety Officer; Crash Investigator; Flight Leader; Engineering Flight Test Pilot; Instrument Flight Examiner; Senior Pilot Rating. Aircraft Flown: T-6 Texan, T-28, T-33 Trainers, and F-86, F-100, F-104, and British RAF Hawker Hunter MK-7 Jet Fighters.
