Mr. Barrett’s career has included successful policy planning, technology application, teaching and business strategy execution experience for industry and U. S. and foreign governments. His corporate experience at SAIC focused on space systems, air traffic control and space launch systems for the U. S, Air Force where he won the $.2B RCAS contract. Largely due to his contribution on this project, he received a certificate of achievement from Boeing. At EDS, he established their business presence in the U. S. Air Force with project wins on the CAS-B and ULANA contracts whose combined contract value to date exceeds $900M. In 19887, Mr. Barrett was presented with the Falcon Award from the Air Force for his support of the outstanding educators program.
Mr. Barrett has served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U. S. Department of State and has taught university courses in history, government and business. He graduated with a B.A and M. A, from Texas A & M in Commerce, received a second M. A. from Baylor and performed graduate research and study in Munich and Oxford. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Texas – Austin.
His love of aviation extends to his personal life where he pilots his Cessna 182 Skyhawk and participates in the Wings Program.
