    Ron was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant USAF in 1963, after graduating from the Univ. of Connecticut. He attended pilot training, Class 65XA, at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas. While in pilot training, he flew the T-37 and T-33. After UPT graduation, Ron went to F-4 training at Davis Monthan AFB and then on to George AFB (431st TFS). During the Vietnam War, he flew out of Ubon, Thailand and was awarded the DFC and two Air Medals. 1966-1969 he was stationed in Hahn AB (10th TFS), Germany. After leaving active duty in 1969, he joined the Mass ANG and in 1970 transferred to the CT ANG. While serving in Connecticut, he flew the F-100 and A-10. Ron was a member of the ANG 1981, 1983 and 1987 Gunsmoke Teams. He was Squadron Commander of the 118th TFS and retired as Colonel in 1991.

    In 1969 Ron was hired by TWA. He flew as flight engineer on the B-727 and B-707, first officer on the L-1011 and retired as a MD-80 captain in 2001.
