    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. David Ferraro

Sam Ferraro worked maintenance on gun turrets on B-29 bombers in World War II and again when he re-enlisted in the Korean War. His children say that, when they were young, he never talked much about being in the military or B-29s. He just had occasional comments about them.

You could always sense that he had a special attachment to the B-29s without having to talk about them. He was like most World War II veterans in that way.

It seems in the post 9/11 era that his childrens’ appreciation for his service, as well as countless others, has been enhanced. They say that they are very proud of their father, but not just for his military service They are also very proud of what he did not have to talk about being: a wonderful husband to his wife; the best father and grandfather; and a good friend to so very many.
