Wall of Honor Level: Air and Space Friend
Honored by:
Mr. Ralph J. Becker
Ralph has had a life long interest in aviation. At the age of six, he knew and could recognize most of our WW II aircraft, an interest sparked by his older brother Charles, a Belly Gunner on a B-24 Liberator and subsequently a P.O.W. Ralph joined the 177TFG, NJANG in 1961 ostensibly for the minimum enlistment; but proudly served for thirty-two years, retiring in 1993. His unit was instrumental in providing protection from air attack for the Middle Atlantic Coast during and after the cold war. Ralph was called to active duty for the Berlin Crisis of 1962, and for the Pueblo Crisis in 1968, when he served with the 37TFW at Phu Cat AB, RVN. In summary, Ralph proudly served his country and loved it.
