Daniel E. Gattenby Senior Master Sergeant Aerospace Ground Equipment Flight Chief United State Air Force January 1973 - June 30 1993 Daniel Gattenby was a member of the crew that started the SR-71 Blackbird which was flown on its final flight to the Smithsonian here in Washington DC.
It was during this flight to the Smithsonian that the aircraft set a speed record of 2,124 miles per hour on March 6, 1990. Dan is pictured here standing front/center with his crew.
Dan, I wanted to honor you with a place on this wall at the Smithsonian.
