    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

On February 20, 1965 the U.S. spacecraft Ranger 8 successfully crash-landed in the Sea of Tranquility after taking over 7,000 pictures of the Moon for NASA research. One year and one day later, Steve Truitt was born. The connection may be strained at best, but to Steve it makes perfect sense. Since he was a child, Steve has been a sky watcher fascinated by the luring glow of our closest neighbor in the cosmos. Today Mr. Truitt is a member of the National Space Society and the Planetary Society, and a supporter of SETI (The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence).

He is also an avid reader and writer of science fiction. Steve wishes to acknowledge the contributions of Stephen Hawking, Ray Bradbury, Carl Sagan, Gene Roddenberry, and Arthur C. Clarke for bringing the huge universe of cosmology down to Earth.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
