    Stuart Faber has had a connection with aviation since its beginning. His uncle was friends with the Wright brothers in Dayton, Ohio. Stuart Faber became involved in aviation after enlisting in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He became an aircraft mechanic and spent most of the war in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. Faber was a Sergeant with the 404th Bomber Squadron, 11th Bomber Command Alaska. Faber earned his private pilot's license in 1947. Later he became a glider pilot, including a commercial rating and was very involved in the Clermont County Ohio EAA chapter. He owned a Switzer 232 glider and a Sportavia RF5B, flying frequently into his mid 70's.

    Stuart Faber has always been interested in the workings of aircraft particularly early types of aircraft. He was involved with a group that studied the history of aviation at Wright State University and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Faber served on a committee that compiled the history of aviation In Cincinnati Ohio.

    Upon watching a vulture soaring on a beautiful day, Stuart Faber commented "If there is reincarnation I hope I can come back as a vulture". The sky was one of his favorite places.

    Stuart Faber loves the challenge and freedom that is aviation.
