    Tom joined the Air Force in 1952 and after being commissioned in Lubbock, TX, he went on to become a fighter pilot ans became a Korean War Veteran, flying the F-86 Sabre Jet. He was one of the original Fighter Weapons school Instructors at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, from 1953 to 1959, then became an Exchange Officer in the United kingdom from 1959 to 1961, flying the Hawker hunter. After returning home, he was stationed at George AFB, CA, flying F-104’s until he separated from the USAF in 1963.
