    Ms. Christine Vidsens

My husband Timothy's interest in airplanes began when he was a small child. What started out as playing with model airplanes progressed to having his mom and dad taking him to the local airport in Palm Springs California to watch the planes take off and land. His interest in planes didn't stop there, upon graduating California State University Fullerton with a degree in Operations Management and Management Information Systems he got a job working at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. His first memory was January 3, 1987 when he came out of a training room and walked right under the wing of a DC-10. There they were five of the largest planes ever made by McDonnell Douglas sitting in a row. I bet that was something to see. At that moment he recalls saying to himself that he wanted to work in that building. Five years later he was the Sr. Manager of Production Control of that very building. During his 10-year career at McDonnell Douglas Corporation he has worked on the MD-80, MD-11, DC-10, F-15 and F-18 programs. After Boeing purchased McDonnell Douglas in 1996 he has worked on the Delta rocket, the space station and Chinook programs. If you were to ask him why he continues to work in the airplane industry he would respond that he couldn't find anything else he would want to do more because he thinks planes are way cool. Even now many years later when we go to the airport for vacation or work purposes and wait for our plane to arrive you will find him by a window watching the take off and landing of planes with a childlike wonder in his eyes. As I sit there watching him I know he really loves those airplanes.
