Timothy J. Peltz knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a pilot. He loved everything about airplanes and flying. His first aviation job was delivering cargo on the West Coast. One day Tim noticed an ad promising flying time and adventure. The company was Globe Aero, and the job required flying single engine aircraft to remote places of the world. Tim would make a decision that would change his life; he joined a profession with less than 100 participants and became a ferry pilot. In his career Tim has completed over 135 oceanic crossings. He battled the severe weather of the North Atlantic and rigorous fatigue that comes with flying across the Pacific. These ferry pilots showed extreme courage and dedication. Delivering aircraft to many third world countries, sometimes in the face of extreme danger and corruption. Many fellow pilots never made it home. Without the dedication of these brave aviators many people around the world would never have had the opportunity to experience aviation. The aircraft delivered helped enrich the lives and afforded wonderful opportunities for people. Their contribution to aviation is immeasurable. Tim still loves flying. he is a Captain for American Airlines and reflects on his career as a ferry pilot with great pride.
