    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Joyce Summers

Walter C. Snyder, our family's honoree for the National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor, has held a lifelong interest in the development, technology, and achievements of the United States space exploration program as well as general aviation.

Mr. Snyder, age 83, has personally witnessed much of the history of the space program over his lifetime: the first unmanned rockets, the first orbit of the earth by John Glenn, the first and subsequent moon landings, the evolution of the space station, and the advent of the space shuttles and their flights. The development of aircraft, both commercial and military, has also been of keen interest.

Mr. Snyder's profession was not related to the aircraft or space industry; his "flight time logged" comes via commercial airline flights. He has followed the progress of commercial aviation through aircraft such as the Lear Jet and the Concord, often watching the Concord fly over his home with the thought of one day experiencing the power of such a machine himself.

The air and space industries have provided a great amount of enjoyment for Mr. Snyder. His family is thrilled to honor him through recognition on the Wall of Honor.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
