Enlisted October, 1949 and served as a fixed wing crew chief until being commissioned in May, 1957. Retired from active duty February, 1980. Served throughout Conus, Alaska, Hawaii and Vietnam as an Army Aviator, Senior Aviator and Master Aviator, flying both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft of many types. Awards include:

* Distinguished Flying Cross for Heroism and 1st OLC
* Bronze Star and 1st OLC
* Meritorious Service Medal
