Wes was a Staff Sergeant in the 8th Army-Air Force from July, 1943 to November, 1945. He served in the 18th Bomb Group, Squadron 34. Wes was stationed in England during World War II and flew 27 missions as a flight maintenance gunner (tail gunner) on a B-27.
These were very memorable times for all these young men. I’m glad we are remembering their bravery and courage in fighting for their beloved country.
