In 1944, I rode up to the Seventh Floor with "?“Hap"?” Arnold. I didn'?’t know it at the time. One man was on the elevator and only two privates entered the car, although many others were waiting. I was told later that the others did not enter for the General was usually taken up by himself. What did a couple privates know!

I also just returned from a reunion of the 92nd Bomb Group held in St. Louis.
