    Commissioned in infantry 20 May 1941 – assigned to Army Air Corps at Moffet Field, CA 25 August 1941. Became Squadron Commander.
    Sent to Victorville Army Air Corps Base. Then sent to flying school and became a pilot and then sent to El Paso to become copilot in a B-17 (Hell Below #710).
    After training sent to England 16 April 1941 (Bedford), shot down 29 May 1941. Sent to Stalag Luft III. Liberated 29 April 1945, then out of service. Recalled 25 August 1951 – then in flying, engineering at base and staff level. Advisor to NATO nations and Korean Air Force. Out of service summer of 1968 and retired.
