    Ms. Tammy Scarbrough

William A. Scarbrough began his career in the Air Force in 1980. He decided at the young age of 18 that he wanted to serve our great country as an Aircraft Mechanic in the military. Not long after joining the Air Force, he was awarded the Airman's Medal of Valor for saving a young girl from drowning. Throughout his career in the Air Force, he performed heavy maintenance on A-10's, T-37's, and T-38's. After 10 years in the Air Force (one of them spent in Korea), William joined the Texas Air National Guard as a full-time civilian. While in the Guard, he was a Crew Chief on C-130's, serving on many missions throughout the world and making sure the aircraft and troops came home safely. William earned his A&P license in 1990. In 1998, he decided to make the move to commercial aviation when he became an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) for Delta Air Lines, while still performing his National Guard duties on weekends until his retirement in 2001. At Delta, he overhauled Boeing aircraft, predominantly 757's and 767's. Now a helicopter mechanic, he feels that he is rounding out his career. Throughout his 25 years in aviation, he has contributed his time and dedication to an industry that still fascinates him to this day.
