Reservation requests for in-person guided tours and youth programs are not available at the location on the National Mall in Washington, DC, but virtual programs are available. Learn more.

Tips from the Tours Office
- School Year Schedule: Our school year student schedule is released annually on August 1 and includes programs from October through early June. Please note that our 2021-2022 school year schedule will be released on September 7, 2021.
- Summer Schedule: Our summer student program schedule is released annually on April 1 and includes programs from mid-June through September.

Guidelines for Virtual Requests
10 person minimum & 3 weeks advance notice. These tours are designed for adult groups. Student and Youth Groups must request Student or Youth Tours (see below).

At least one adult chaperone must accompany students at all times during virtual programs.
If you or your group does not join the virtual event or contact us by fifteen minutes past your program start time, then your virtual event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
All reserved Museum tours and programs are free and supported by staff and volunteers. We ask that groups who need to cancel a reservation, or expect to join later than planned, contact us at NASMTours@si.edu. If reserved groups do not alert Museum staff to a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, your group may not be eligible to reserve future programs.
Recording of Museum presentations is not permitted.
Guidelines For In Person Requests at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA
All visitors ages two and older are required to wear a face covering while visiting Smithsonian museums and indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status. Starting Friday March, 11 the Museum will no longer require visitors to wear a face covering during their visit.
Face coverings should fit properly, covering the nose, mouth, and chin with no large gaps on the outside of the face, and they should have at least two layers. Face shields are not permitted as a substitute for a face covering but may be worn over a face covering or mask. Face coverings or masks with an exhalation valve are not permitted.

All schools/organizations with reserved programs must abide by the chaperone policy. An adult with a baby or small child is not a suitable chaperone.
- Pre-K - 3rd: One adult per every 5 children
- 4th - 12th: One adult per every 10 children
All reserved museum tours and programs are free and supported by staff and volunteers. We ask that groups who need to cancel a reservation, or expect to arrive later than planned, call the Museum’s Welcome Desk at 703-572-4118. If reserved groups do not alert Museum staff to a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, your group may not be allowed to reserve future programs.
For all tours, one docent will be assigned for every 10 people in the tour group.
There is a parking fee of $15.00 per vehicle. Tour buses and school buses park for free. All vehicles must pull a parking ticket upon entry. Buses must exit through Lane 1 (the staffed lane) in order to have the parking fee waived.
Food and drink other than bottled water are not permitted inside the museum. Groups are encouraged to eat on their buses or use the picnic tables provided outside the Museum near the bus parking lot.
All bags/backpacks will be checked by Security. Please limit the number of bags brought into the museum to help expedite your entry.
