Take a look through our telescopes and see the wonders of the night sky. Join Museum staff at the Eisenhower Memorial, located across Independence Avenue from the Museum entrance. Experienced people will help you to observe a variety of things, including planets, stars, and the Moon.
Telescopes will be provided by Smithsonian and pre-approved members of local astronomy clubs. No other personal telescopes are permitted at the event.
Stargazing is free and open to the public, no tickets or reservations required.
This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to rain, clouds, and other poor visibility. For last-minute updates, call the Astronomy Education number at 202-633-2517.
