For almost half a century, artists participating in the NASA art program have been documenting the extraordinary adventure of space flight in ways that no camera could match. This exhibition included some 70 paintings from the NASA collection, including drawings, photographs and pieces of sculpture by such artists as Annie Leibovitz, Nam June Paik, Robert Rauschenberg, Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol and Jamie Wyeth.

Out of this World highlights particular moments from the space age that have inspired artists — the beginning of the space age in 1957, sending astronauts to the Moon and back in 1969, seeing the whole Earth from space in 1972, and creating a better picture of our home galaxy in 1992.

This temporary aviation art exhibition featured 25 elegant paintings and drawings by renowned artist Robert Grant "R.G" Smith. The exhibition was on display March 24 - September 5, 2000.

This gallery explored two key technologies that have made spaceflight possible: rockets and spacesuits. But it also paid tribute to the dreamers, writers, and visionaries whose ideas inspired many of the pioneers who would help realize humanity’s dream of spaceflight.

Sea-Air Operations featured a reproduction of a carrier hangar deck. Artifacts included the Boeing F4B-4, Grumman FM-1 Wildcat, Douglas Dauntless SBD, and Douglas A-4 Skyhawk.

Searching for Goldilocks is a sculpture created by artist Angela Palmer in 2012. The artwork name refers to the term "Goldilocks planet" — a world not too hot or not too cold to be habitable for life.

Space Race describes the U.S.-Soviet space rivalry and its aftermath, from the military origins of the Space Race, through the race to the Moon and the development of reconnaissance satellites, to cooperative efforts to maintain a human presence in space.

This traveling exhibit highlighted current projects in space exploration and provided a glimpse to future human space travel.

This exhibition presented images taken by Cassini and its Titan probe Huygens of this spectacular planet and its many moons.
