Airbus A380 Enters Service with Singapore Airlines
On October 27, 2007, the Airbus A380 entered service with Singapore Airlines carrying its first paying passengers, from Singapore to Sydney, Australia. The huge A380 is now the world's largest passenger airliner, a distinction formerly owned by the Boeing 747, and is capable of carrying 525 passengers along routes as long as 10,000 miles. The highly-efficient aircraft is designed to help relieve congestion along the world's most heavily traveled air routes.
