Exploring Today

The scientific model of the Universe pieced together by the 1930s--a Universe of galaxies moving away from one another--still stands. Astronomers today continue to tinker with it, questioning how the Universe developed, how it is structured, how galaxies "work." The pace of discovery is breathtaking, but mysteries abound. The Universe remains a wondrous place, evolving and elegant--and elusive. Over the next few weeks, you will see this section fill with regular astronomy explorations, and an opportunity to test your astronomy knowledge.
