Ages 6+ | 10-15 min | Craft | Screen Free

This craft will spin like a helicopter or a seed.

What You'll  Need:

  • Letter sized paper
  • Safety scissors
  • Tape
  • Crayons, markers, pens, or colored pencils

1. Fold a full 8.5 x 11 " sheet in quarters.

2. Cut out one quarter.

3. Take the quarter sheet, fold the top edge to the bottom, then open—the crease will show the halfway line.

4. From the top edge, cut down the center crease to the halfway crease you just made. Stop at the crease.

5. Fold the bottom edge up once.

6. Add a paperclip or tape on the bottom for weight.

6. Bend one top wing forward, the other backward.

6. Watch it spin!

Hold the flyer on the bottom where the paperclip is and drop it from shoulder height.

7. Optional: Experiment!

What happens if...

  • you add more paperclips?
  • you drop it from a taller height?
  • drop it in front of a fan?

We want to hear from you!
