U-2 pilot, Francis Garry Powers' diary. Powers was flying a U-2 reconnaissance mission over the Soviet Union when he was shot down in May 1960. He spent almost 21 months in prison in the Soviet Union. During that time, he openly kept a diary of his daily activities.
