In 1935, Thelma Jean Harman became the first stewardess for TWA. She wore this summer uniform while flying aboard Ford Tri-Motors along TWA's "Lindbergh Line" from New York to Los Angeles. The stewardess badge on her coat was a later addition to the uniform.
