    Flight attendant Mary Ellen Lipnitz wore this uniform while working for Republic Airlines in the 1980s. Republic Airlines was formed by the merger of North Central Airlines and Southern Airways in 1979. It quickly grew into a nationwide carrier after purchasing Hughes Air West in 1980, but was in turn absorbed by Northwest Airlines in 1986.
