    This mosaic (about 5 centimeters/2 inches square) shows a circular hole ground into the rock Mazatzal by Spirit’s Rock Abrasion Tool. Grinding tailings surround the hole. A light-colored mineral, probably precipitated from a liquid, fills the bright diagonal crack.
