Building Landing Strip - Normandy

Taken June 18, 1944, by RAF 542 Photo Squadron, this photo shows the building of a landing strip inland. Pre-invasion aerial photography enabled the selection of suitable landing strip locations and their immediate construction within days of the invasion. (NASM 9A-14039-076)
