Hurricanes Irma, Katia, and Jose in 2017

Three simultaneous hurricanes were active on September 8, 2017, the first such occurrence since 2010. This image captured by the Suomi NPP satellite, shows Hurricane Katia (left) making landfall over the Mexican state of Veracruz, Hurricane Irma (center) approaching Cuba, and Hurricane Jose (right) reaching peak intensity.
