Ann Carl served at Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, in both Bomber Flight Test (BFT), flying B-24s and B-29s, and Fighter Flight Test (FFT). There she became first American woman to fly a military jet, the YP-59, the 2nd version of the first American built jet aircraft XP-59.
