The P-61 Black Widow is surely most beautiful when viewed from above—the better to see its magnificent wing and twin-boom configuration. It’s not surprising that this image, taken by famed aviation photographer Hans Groenhoff, was chosen as the cover for the October 1944 issue of Flying Aces magazine.
