Who Can Volunteer?
Do you have a passion for aviation and space flight? Have you ever wanted to lead a tour of the National Air and Space Museum? Or work on the restoration of historic spacecraft? Do you like to read stories to children? Are you a mobile app developer with free time on his or her hands? We can use your help!

Visitor Services
The blue crew at our Museum's Welcome Centers answers visitors' questions, gives directions and offers advice on how visitors can use their time effectively. If you are a friendly people-person over the age of 16, this might be for you.

All guided-tours at the Museum in Washington, DC and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA are conducted by volunteers. Training classes are held every two years, with the next class scheduled for Fall of 2021.

Join our Education Team
There are plenty of opportunities to help the Museum educate and inspire. Whether you lead children on a literary journey to Mars or engage visitors in a hands-on exploration of artifacts, your work could provoke a lifelong interest in aviation or space.
